Important , It will fit only AF-S VR II model, not AF-S VR. VR II or AF-P lens model is retractable, it has lock button the zoom ring. Please make sure that you have correct size lens. Since Nikon made 3 or 4 different models of 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 lenses.
Some buyers confuse it with N106 hood for Nikon 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 AF-P lens. They look similar but they use different hood. AF-P lens has 55mm rim.
Hood is generic brand, not made by Nikon. But it looks and feels just like Nikon brand hood. Good quality plastic, strong and sturdy.
